Event Details

The Journalism 2.0 roundtable is a first-of-its-kind event for Girls in Tech, allowing our members and other attendees to learn about the ever-evolving world of journalism. Esteemed female voices in San Francisco's tech journalism community will be lead in a discussion by The Wall Street Journal's Kara Swisher on topics like how blogging has changed the face of journalism; how "citizen journalism" is impacting traditional journalism; the positive and negative impact of being a woman in the male-dominated world of tech and more.

Panelists include former SF Chronicle Tech Editor Deborah Gage, ZdNet's Jennifer Leggio, Ubergizmo Editor Eliane Fiolet and VentureBeat's Camille Ricketts and TechieDiva's Gina Hughes.

Also, a small introduction to the panel will be made by Brian Solis, Principal of Future Works PR and blogger at PR 2.0, and Kara Swisher to dusciss his latest book, 'Putting the Public back in Public Relations' directly before the event at 6:45PM and then we'll steer right into the panel!

Sponsored by Future Works PR, beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be served during network and arrival time from 6:30 - 7:00 PM. The panel discussion will begin promptly at 7:00PM.

Hope to see you there!!!

Girls in Tech

Girls in Tech is a social network enterprise focused on the engagement, education and empowerment of like-minded, professional, intelligent and influential women in technology. As young women with the capacity to inspire, we made it our personal desire and passion to create and sustain an organization that focuses on the collaboration, promotion, growth and success of women in the technology sector.

Created in February of 2007, ‘Girls in Tech’ (GIT) was founded by Adriana Gascoigne. GIT was born out of a need to provide a place for women to cultivate ideas around their careers and business concepts involving technology.

Girls in Tech aims to offer a variety of resources and tools for women to supplement and further enhance their professional careers and aspirations in technology. Some of these resources include, educational workshops and lectures, networking functions, round table discussions, conferences, social engagements, and recruitment events.
